Not the Same-old Cup of Tea
There is so much more to tea than the ubiquitous iced tea served at a restaurant, or the hyper-flavored, sugar-sweetened bottled teas. Come stretch your boundaries and discover new choices offered by quality loose-leaf tea.

Have you experienced a tea that is naturally buttery smooth, sweet like honey, reminiscent of popcorn or malty cinnamon? Do you know the fate of the servant who mixed rice into the tea, or how tea leaves can have a "scary scent."?

Blue Heron Tea Traditions conducts events that provide a relaxing experience to help you discover new teas. Certified Tea Sommelier, Georgia Rayna, will demonstrate how to make the best hot or iced tea, teach you about tea traditions around the world, and reveal the lore behind the cup.

Above is a list of currently scheduled events and classes - many of them still open.  You can also schedule a class or guided tea tasting at other times. We are also available for presentations at your event.

Kid-Friendly Tea
I am often asked if my tea events are kid-friendly. Since I do business in my home, I have to ask: is the child/children old enough to know how to behave in someone else's house, i.e. walk, not run or dart about? Is she curious? Will he ask pertinent questions? Will she allow you to enjoy yourself? Will the child make another guests' time here enjoyable? Are you willing to purchase a ticket for your child?

The whole point of Blue Heron is to find a brief respite from our everyday lives. If your child is honestly content at hanging out with you, mindful of others' time and likes tea, or trying and learning about new things, then absolutely, make a reservation for him or her.

I find that kids ask some of the most interesting questions, and most are not shy about doing so!
